There are four 14er peaks at Kite Lake, near Alma, CO. (the lake is shaped like a kite)
The four mountains, known by the acronym, “DeCaLiBron,” stands for Democrat, Cameron, Lincoln, and Bross. All four summits can be done in one day, in a loop hike of about 7.5 miles.
The plan is to get at least two of them on a six mile roundtrip hike. Interested, energetic Trail Mix hikers can do more while the others relax and wait at the lake. We will meet on the 24th at St. John at 4 AM, and drive to the Kite Lake trailhead. We will arrive at by sunrise, before the lot gets filled up with other hikers.
Any non-hiking family members can enjoy a day at Kite Lake. Licensed anglers are welcome. It’s known to have alpine trout. We will undoubtedly see several tents.
Gail knows zilch about fishing, but regarding the hike, contact her at (720) 201-8743.
