Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Christian season known as Lent, when Christians prepare themselves for Easter Sunday. The ashes of Ash Wednesday remind us of our mortality. God created humankind from the dust of the earth, and it is to dust that we shall all return. “Remember you dust, and to dust you shall return” we are told. The ashes also remind us that we have been redeemed. We humbly come before the Lord, repent of our sinful ways and receive the free gift of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Come, all are welcome. All are in need of salvation. Let the Lord use the ashes of your past to create in you a clean heart and new life in Him.
Ash Wednesday Sermon: " You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good."
